Meet Your Coach
Jack Oliver
I’m Jack Oliver — an ultra runner, mountaineering instructor, and running coach lucky enough to call the Lake District home.

Most of my life has been shaped by big days in the hills. Whether I’m running, climbing, or exploring somewhere new, it all comes from a love of the outdoors and a constant drive to grow and challenge myself.

Over the last decade, I’ve taken on some of the UK’s toughest runs and most iconic climbs. Each long day out — whether smooth or a complete sufferfest — has helped me build the experience and resilience I now bring into my coaching.

As a qualified Mountaineering Instructor (MIA), I get to teach people how to move confidently and safely in the mountains. It’s a role I take seriously, and one I genuinely enjoy.

Fell Fit Coaching Trainer : Jack
My adventures have taken me beyond the UK too — from the trails of Nepal to the heat of the UAE. Experiencing different landscapes and cultures has broadened my understanding of endurance, adventure, and what it means to explore.

I’ve worked with people of all ability levels, helping them prepare for some of the toughest races and climbs in the UK. With my background as a Level 4 strength and conditioning coach based at PureGym Kendal and as a UESCA Running Coach,
I focus on a science-based, practical approach to training. My aim is to give you the support, structure, and confidence you need to grow as a runner and adventurer. Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll build your skills together and get you ready for whatever challenge you’ve set your sights on.

Coaching, for me, is about meeting you where you’re at. Whether you’re just starting your running journey or planning something huge, I’ll work with you to create a training plan that fits your life, your goals, and your strengths.

I’m also a proud member of the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, which gives me the chance to use my skills when they matter most — helping people in the hills I care so much about.
